Working in engineering design early in my career really impressed upon me the importance and impact of creating an environment that supports managing risk. Later experience in operations showed me how weak systems and inconsistent leadership can escalate uncontrolled risks into serious incidents and cause both immediate and widespread harm. This fuels our team’s dedication to providing excellent customised services designed to enable safe and healthy work. In this way we provide the guiding foundations and support for leaders to build a sustainable culture of care.

In the 25 plus years, I have been working with organisations in Health and Safety I have seen enormous change. Historically organisations have been very compliance focussed and typically very reactive. However, what we know is that to really achieve an organisation where we not only avoid harm, but actually enhance outcomes for people, understanding that caring for and engaging people at every level of the organisation is what will truly make the difference. We know that if we care for people, and help them to be the best they can be, then they will go above and beyond to care for each other.
If we are truly to take the next steps on the safety and wellbeing journey, we need to use our imagination, think differently and tap into the enormous strength of the goodness of people.

Neil has extensive experience in developing, establishing, and reviewing client’s health and safety management systems and safe systems of work including policies, strategic plans, risk assessments, asbestos management plans, safe work method statements, risk registers, and hazardous substance management plans, Neil is a perfect fit with the ethos of SafetyWorks.
Neil is a passionate health and safety professional with over 20 years’ experience working across a wide range of industries within the public and private sectors, including mining, transportation and warehousing, construction, manufacturing, aerospace, defence, the arts and State and Federal Government Agencies.
He has held line management positions with nation-wide responsibilities across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region with his skills extending to application of Safety Useability Mapping principles to help organisations simplify comprehensive and/or complex WHSMS’s or procedural documentation.
With a passion for helping organisations, teams and individuals create change that brings people with it, Amy has been influential in creating connections, engagement and driving transformative behaviour to enable positive cultures. She is known for her refreshing thinking and natural ability on solving complex organisational challenges. Amy is committed to building resourcefulness and capability and the value of this is provided in ongoing feedback from her clients.
Amy’s specialty is navigating the leadership, people and culture-related challenges that arise as organisations embark on change and deal with complexity; a dynamic skill where she is able to clearly diagnose the real issues and offer practical and implementable solutions that cut through the noise.
With a wealth of experience in leading large-scale culture and capabilities transformation initiatives across the utility, public sector, not-for-profit and construction sectors in Australia and the UK, Amy brings her 20 plus years of leading numerous culture change implementations across a diverse range of industries including but not limited to Sydney Water; HomeWorld; NSW Land and Housing Corporation; Australian Water Association; Southern Cross Care.
Kristen has been supporting SafetyWorks for over 18 years and knows the business inside out. Her strong management skills and attention to detail help her to excel in all things business management.
Carolyn has over 15 years’ experience as a coach and is intrigued with the unique qualities of individuals and working out how different people can work together productively.
Carolyn’s strength is to recognise and cultivate potential in others. Carolyn enjoys coaching individuals, groups and teams; helping people to coexist and work towards achieving their goals and enhancing productivity.
Terry is an experienced leadership and behavioural coach. He specialises in facilitating culture change programs designed to optimise and sustain safety and wellbeing performance for individuals, teams and organisations across a variety of industries including but not limited to; aviation, manufacturing, utilities, construction, energy and resources, local, state and federal governments.
Terry is always on the lookout for opportunities to support and influence learning and personal growth for both himself and his clients.
His approach is relationship-based and calls on disciplines such as psychology and philosophy. Terry enjoys enabling leaders to create a vision for the future that mobilizes individuals, teams and organisations towards improved safety performance.
