Sarah-Jane O'Brien - Consultant

Sarah-Jane offers over 7 years experience as an OHS Manager to private industry in the areas of safety, risk management, environmental and injury management. Sarah-Jane's experience extends across a range of industries including automotive retail, FMCG, service, manufacturing and food safety. Sarah-Jane offers a combination of practical experience and theoretical knowledge in all facets of OHS, risk management and system auditing (including contractors). She has worked with a number of organisations including Subaru Australia, Coca-Cola Amatil and Aristocrat Technologies to set and align OHS objectives and KPIs with corporate strategy objectives and ensure a high level of safety leadership and individual commitment.

Sarah-Jane has extensive experience reviewing, setting-up and implementing safety management systems and is focussed on developing succinct, well-structured and accessible documents which are written in plain English, making use of diagrams, checklists and flow charts to relay complex concepts in simpler format. In addition, Sarah-Jane has implemented several online OHS programs including online contractor management systems, employee inductions and online incident, hazard and investigation reporting systems. She has also completed international ergonomic usability studies on two well-known websites to ensure 'ease of use' and increase web traffic.

Sarah-Jane's skill-set extends to the development of OHS tools such as risk assessments, procedures, training tools and programs, inspections and safety marketing. Sarah-Jane management systems and an accredited Return-to-Work Coordinator. Sarah-Jane holds an MBA in Industrial Relations and is completing a Master's Degree in Industrial Safety.
