Ross Coulton - Consultant

Ross came to SafetyWorks Group after a long and successful career as a University academic. He was a Senior lecturer in OHS at the University of Newcastle and Head of the Discipline of Environment & Occupational Health. He was responsible for the structure and implementation of OHS programs including the Associate Diploma in OHS (1986), Bachelor of OHS (1992) and the Postgraduate programs including the Master of OHS. He continues with the University as a Conjoint Senior Lecturer, supervision of master's students. Development of OHS courses in Malaysia and Singapore through the 1990s culminated in establishment of a Bachelor degree in Singapore in 2003. Ross is also assisting the development of a diploma with a New Zealand poly technic. His main teaching areas at University were OHS Practice and Research methods in OHS.

His main areas of work with industry have centred on auditing and the audit process over a range of industries, risk management systems approaches and training program development. Ross holds Master of Arts (Newcastle), Master of Letters (New England), and has completed the Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training and OHS Auditor training. He is a member of the Safety Institute of Australia, the New Zealand Institute for Safety Management and is register safety professional (Aust).
