SWG has worked with OneSteel, Smorgon Steel, Newcastle City Council and McDonalds Australia over a number of years to successfully achieve and maintain accreditation as a Self Insurer in NSW.

Major activities have included:

• Conducting independent external management system audits
• Participating in internal audits
• Identifying and developing strategies to address potential gaps
• Preparing clients for 3-yearlyWorkCover audit through pre-audits, assistance with identification and collation of audit submission materials, development of formal presentations, coaching of interviewees in the Audit protocol, and spot-audits

Premium Discount Scheme (NSW)

SWG was an accredited Category 3 Advisor in the NSW WorkCover Premium Discount Scheme since its commencement in 2001. During this time until the scheme's closure in June 2005, we have assisted a range of clients to progress successfully through the scheme.

The Audit methodology follows the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 19011:2003: Guidelines for quality and environmental management systems auditing. However the specific scope is decided with the client in order to meet the requirements of the scheme as applied to their business. Comprehensive reports are provided which assist the client to identify any gaps, provide recommendations to address them, and direct the client towards the next step in the scheme.

Although the PDS scheme is now closed, the model used is an ideal tool for auditing OHS Management Systems.

OHS Auditor Training

Provide your organisation's internal OHS auditors with both the technical skills involved with an audit protocol, as well as the human factors associated with being an effective auditor.

The training is based on the principles and requirements of AS/NZS ISO 19011:2003: Guidelines for quality and environmental management systems auditing, as well as AS 4801: OHS Management Systems; Specifications with guidance for use.
